Ingles Joins the Fight Against Pediatric Brain Tumors

ASHEVILLE – Thanks to the generosity of Ingles Markets’ employees and customers, children suffering from deadly brain tumors now have been given a helping hand. The Asheville-based Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is the beneficiary of a paper pinup promotion that raised nearly $15,000. This two-part promotion was held last November and in July of this year in all 200 Ingles Markets stores.

“We are pleased to be a part of this national charity, headquartered right here in Asheville,” says Melissa McIntosh, Director of Advertising for Ingles Markets. “We know this money will help many families in the areas that Ingles serves.”

“We are so grateful to everyone who bought one of these paper pinups. In some of the Ingles, the walls and windows were covered with pictures of six-year-old Ethan, who was featured on the pinups,” says Aggie Alexander, Director of Development for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. “It is very gratifying to know that so many people in our community truly care about these kids and the devastating toll this disease has on them and their families.”
 

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) funds research to help find the cause and cure of children’s brain tumors. The PBTF also provides family support and educational scholarships to brain tumor-stricken children and their families.
