Tim & Tom Gullikson Family Support Fund to host exhibit booth at Cincinnati tennis tournament

August 4, 2009

Tennis fans will flock to Cincinnati this weekend to see some of the world’s top-ranked players compete in the prestigious Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women’s Open. Between matches, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) invites tournament goers to stop by the Tim & Tom Gullikson Family Support Fund booth to show their support for our college scholarship program.

Tournament play begins on Aug. 8 with the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open, a Premier event on the international Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. Headliners include world No. 1 Dinara Safina and Serena Williams, the current holder of three of the four Grand Slam titles.

Next up is the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, one of nine elite ATP Masters 1000 events. French Open and Wimbledon champion and world No. 1 Roger Federer leads the field, along with No. 2 Rafael Nadal, No. 3 Andy Murray, and Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick.

The PBTF’s Tim & Tom Gullikson Family Support Fund booth will be open for the length of the tournament, August 8-23, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Promotional items will be available, and donations will be accepted. Proceeds benefit the Tim & Tom Gullikson Family Support Fund at the PBTF.

The fund honors the legacy of the late tennis champion and coach Tim Gullikson, who died of brain cancer in 1996. This year the PBTF awarded a record $264,000 in college scholarships to brain tumor survivors as well as children and siblings of brain tumor patients.
