Two superstars have joined forces to help children with brain tumors. Musician Lyle Lovett and motorcycle racing champion Kevin Schwantz star in a new public service announcement for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® (PBTF) Ride for Kids®.
“A big Ride for Kids® thank-you goes out to Kevin Schwantz and Lyle Lovett,” said Ride for Kids® National Director Kyle Clack. “To have two such well-known motorcyclists, each a ‘world champion’ in their profession, get together to make a real difference in children’s lives is truly a championship event!”
An avid motorcyclist who has supported Ride for Kids® since it came to Houston 20 years ago, Lovett has recorded several PSAs for the foundation.
Schwantz is also a major fan. Last year while managing American Honda’s Moto2 effort to benefit the PBTF, he took time to lead the Ride for Kids® Lap of Champions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The spot was filmed last month at Northwest Honda in Houston, with help from Love Advertising and Understand, Inc. It also stars a young brain tumor survivor named Garrett. Each day, 10 more children like him are diagnosed with a brain tumor, the deadliest form of childhood cancer.
Motorcyclists like Lovett and Schwantz are helping the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® change these children’s lives for the better. The PBTF has raised more than $61 million to date, making it the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research.
