“The Good Fight” goes to Washington motorcyclist

Geoff Myers of Bothell, Wash., is the winner of The Cycle World Project Honda "The Good Fight" by Roland Sands Design for Ride for Kids®. The annual drawing raised more than $55,000 to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® (PBTF).

Myers purchased his drawing ticket at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Seattle this past December.

The owner of a 2001 Triumph Speed Triple, he says he was attracted to bike because of its “naked” styling. “I am truly ecstatic and completely overwhelmed,” Myers said after the PBTF notified him of his win. “To know that the [drawing] was for a great cause and to win an unbelievably awesome bike by a designer such as Roland Sands is just spectacular. You made my day, week, month, year!”

The PBTF drew Myers’ name from thousands of entries. This is the 10th consecutive year that Cycle World and Ride for Kids® have presented the drawing, which has raised more than $557,000 to date.

“After 10 years, and more than half a million dollars, our motorcycle industry partners and every motorcyclist who bought a ticket should be very proud,” said Kyle Clack, national director of the Ride for Kids® program. “Together we have literally changed the world for some very deserving children and their families. Well done!”

“The Good Fight” is a 2009 Honda CBR1000RR donated by American Honda, who also moved the bike around the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows circuit. Roland Sands Design customized the bike with help from Performance Machine, Airtrix, Hotbodies Racing, Vortex Racing, Vance & Hines, Renthal and Dunlop. Additional support came from Advanstar Communications.
