Ride for Kids® helps PBTF earn Charity Navigator’s highest rating
June 4, 2009
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, supported by Ride for Kids®, has earned top marks from the nation’s premier evaluator of charities for the fifth year in a row.
"We are proud to announce that the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation has earned our fifth consecutive four-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances," Charity Navigator CEO Ken Berger said in a letter to the PBTF.
"Only 4 percent of the charities we rate have received at least five consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America," Berger continued. "This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
The PBTF achieved this rating with the help of its donors, fundraisers, volunteers and sponsors.
"We could not fund our medical research and family support programs without the financial generosity of motorcyclists and the motorcycle industry," said Executive Director Brian Traynor. "We take great care with the funds entrusted to us, and we are honored that Charity Navigator has recognized this effort with their four-star rating."
